Sammie Roman on Cabaret
Cabaret is the most personal form of communication between the performer and the audience. It is all encompassing. It includes your singing and speaking voices, your words themselves, your attire, and your facial and body language. Even the venue and its resources can contribute to your "message." Why, cabaret can become your soapbox, if you so choose. It provides the most freedom of the theatre arts, which is why I love it both as a performer and as an audience member.
